Book Review: Favorite Series – Stephanie Plum by Janet Evanovich

The Stephanie Plum series written by Janet Evanovich is one of my absolute favorite series. I could continue to re-read the books every few months without ever getting bored. Evanovich paints a very vibrant world of New Jersey where nothing is ever dull!

You get to follow the main character Stephanie who is a lady down on her luck. She ends up taking a job at her cousin Vinnie’s bail bond company after losing her job as a lingerie sales representative. Stephanie embarks on an amazing journey of trying to catch fugitives who skip out on their bond. The series is literally packed full of everything from criminals, mysteries, love, family, and cars blowing up on a consistent basis!

The main character is one of the most laughable and easiest characters to relate with that I have ever seen. I just love how real she is and how her brain works. She is always getting herself in trouble or having to chase down her young at heart eccentric grandmother. The story-line of each book is always unique and fresh which easily keeps you entertained throughout the entire series. What I love most about this series besides the delightful characters you fall in love with is how many books are in the series.

If you want a long journey and a series to cozy up with for a long period of time this is the one for you! There are currently twenty-four books in total I believe. There also are in-between books that have their own bizarre twist and crazy storylines. These are not as long as the series books tend to be and always have some sort of supernatural twist to them; however, they are very delightful to read!

Pestered by her close New Jersey family, Stephanie Plum offers to catch high-school crush Joe Morelli, cop turned bail jumper, for her cousin Vinnie’s company. She questions “working girls” to find the missing girlfriend of vicious prizefighter Benito Ramirez while Joe secretly watches her back. Ranger mentors her and supplies vehicles when hers explode.

Janet Evanovich is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Stephanie Plum series, the Lizzy and Diesel series, twelve romance novels, the Alexandra Barnaby novels and Trouble Maker graphic novel, and How I Write: Secrets of a Bestselling Author, as well as the Fox and O’Hare series with co-author Lee Goldberg.

  1. I’m more of an action, blow things up, kind-a guy. The Destroyer series offers all the fantasy and action I can handle. By Richard Sapir and Warren Murphy, I think the last episode I read was #117, but I heard they are into the 120’s now. And the director of Iron Man III has been slated to direct a new movie for them as well. Don’t let the world blow up until I get to see it.
Oh, yeah, great review, I like girly books too. JODI PICOULT is my grand nieces favorite author. My ex’s is Anne Rice. Try Picoult, I think you’ll like her.
